Energy Loss in Nuclear Drell-Yan Process
By means of the nuclear parton distributions which can be used to provide a good explanation for the EMC effect in the whole x range, we investigate the energy loss effect in nuclear Drell-Yan process. When the cross section of lepton pair production is considered varying with the center-of-mass energy of the nucleon-nucleon collision, we find that the nuclear Drell-Yan(DY) ratio is suppressed ...

The Large Hadron Collider started data taking at the end of 2009 and an integrated luminosity of 1fb−1 is hoped for by the end of 2011. A precise measurement of the high mass Drell Yan spectrum offers a good opportunity for a model independent search for new physics. The muon channel is well suited for this, due to the clean signature and the good muon identification in the Muon Spectrometer. P...
متن کاملPolarized Drell-Yan Process
The results of a recent calculation of the QCD corrections to the longitudinally polarized Drell-Yan process are summarized. In addition to the parity conserving double spin asymmetry which is already accessible in the Drell-Yan production of lepton pairs at fixed target energies, we consider parity violating single spin asymmetries appearing only in the production of massive vector bosons at p...
متن کاملPower corrections to the differential Drell-Yan cross section
We estimate the power corrections (infrared renormalon contributions) to the coefficient functions for the differential Drell-Yan cross-section dσ/dQdy, where Q is the mass squared and y the rapidity of the produced lepton pair. We employ the dispersive method based on the analysis of one-loop Feynman graphs containing a massive gluon.
